Eight Dead in Brazilian Hot Air Balloon Disaster

Santa Catarina accident follows emergency evacuation of 14 passengers from overweight aircraft

Santa Catarina, Brazil – A hot air balloon crash has claimed the lives of 8 people in a tragic accident. The balloon was initially loaded with 22 passengers but was unable to take off safely due to being overweight.

When the balloon began showing signs of distress, 14 passengers managed to exit quickly before takeoff. As the balloon started to rise, one person was seen jumping from the basket, resulting in their death. Shortly afterward, the balloon caught fire and crashed to the ground.

The incident is under investigation by local authorities.
